original-whocares said: Why the lack of respect in the religious belief who follows the Christian Cross in The Devil's Son chapter? (Getting the idea that it was representative for those whose ideals of that religion are way twisted to what was originally meant) Much apreciated if answered and looking forward to this really diverse and complex webcomic of yours (and for the Die Young vid :3)
Ive actually answered this a lot so i’ll make this hella breif.
yes I know its the cross of st. Peter, I know what that is, I know what it means.
haha it’s there for a reason, I don’t disrespect christianity, I was raised presbysterian.
Alrighty, story time!~ While yes I’m a twisted version of LaVeyan Satanism with a hint of spiritual in there, I do wear the cross of St. Peter. Yes, its used as a symbol of disrespect twards christians and I’m very well aware of that. “To me" the inverted cross of St. Peter represents my respect towards religion in general. St. Peter wanted to be crucified upside down because he felt he was below Jesus. I wear the inverted cross "Not out of disrespect", but because I see myself as no greater than any other religion. I’m below any and all other religions, and I’m ok with it. While many Christians deem the inverted cross a symbol of disrespect and others a sign of ignorance, it stands for by belief that all religions are equal, and that I am no better. Symbols are not something that is taken up and given one specific meaning, a symbol stands for something that means to “You”. While I will most likely get butt-tons of flak from this, I’m ok with it. I know what it means to me, and that’s good enough. Sorry for the big ol “Wall of Text”, I just wanted to give my two cents and maybe shed a little knowledge on ya. Peace!~
Today on I didnt know I was a satanist. Thats very interesting. Question, can you by necklaces like that at stores or do you have to make them yourself?
